Guarantee & Refund Policy

45-Day Risk-Free Guarantee
You may cancel for any reason within the first 45 calendar days of enrollment and receive a full refund of subscription fees paid, and any remaining commitment obligations are cancelled. No diagnostics, assessments, or platform usage required. This guarantee does not apply to returning Users. For Short-Term Programs, this 45-day window is replaced by the 21-Day Risk-Free Guarantee described in the Short-Term Programs section below.
Growth Guarantee
We commit to helping your student achieve at least 2X the National Average Annual Growth, as reported by NWEA, on NWEA Growth Factor assessments in:
Math
Reading
Language Arts*
Science*
* If the student is rostered based on student age and academic requirements
Growth is measured using NWEA MAP assessments, which are administered through the Services three times per year (fall, winter, and spring).
The Growth Guarantee applies only to enrollments in our standard year-round program. It does not apply to Short-Term Programs, which do not span the full NWEA MAP assessment intervals required to measure growth.
What Happens If the Growth Guarantee Isn't Met?
If your student doesn't hit the growth target, the following options are available to you:
50% Discount on 1-on-1 Coaching (3 months)
You are eligible for this discount if your student's average Growth Factor across all subjects is less than 2x the National Average Annual Growth as demonstrated by the results of the most recent MAP test for the most recent term interval.
Refund
You are eligible for a refund if both:
(1) your student's average Growth Factor across all subjects is less than 1x the National Average Annual Growth as demonstrated by the results of the most recent MAP test; and
(2) your student has completed at least 80% of the assigned Essential Skills during the applicable period.
In such a situation, you may terminate your student’s subscription to the Services and request a refund for the amounts paid for the applicable Term Interval or Annual Interval. Any remaining commitment obligations shall be cancelled.
For the purposes of determining a coaching discount or refund, if applicable, each Interval shall be evaluated independently. Performance results from one Interval do not modify, extend, or override remedies associated with any other Interval.
Additional Details
Enrollment Requirement. Your student must be enrolled for the entire Interval and receive a growth score in each eligible subject to qualify for any coaching discount or refund.
Curriculum Completion. If a User completes all available curriculum through Grade 12 offered within the Services prior to the end of the User's then-current subscription term, the User may terminate the subscription and request a prorated refund for the unused portion of the subscription term remaining after the date of completion. For purposes of this provision, "completion" means the User has satisfied all Essential Skills and coursework available through Grade 12 within the Services, as determined by Alpha Anywhere. Any remaining commitment obligations shall be cancelled upon such termination.
Testing Conditions. Growth guarantees only apply when MAP assessments are administered under proper conditions following NWEA guidelines.
Requests for Refunds. Refund requests must be made no later than 14 days from time results are published, or such longer period as may be required by applicable law.
Less Reward Value: The fair market value of any incentives earned by the User will be deducted from any refunds due.
Reimbursement of ESA Funds. The guarantees described here may not apply to purchases made with Education Savings Account (ESA) funds, depending on your state's laws. Subject to the law in your state, any refunds of public funds will be returned directly to your state's program administrator.
Guarantee Modifications. Alpha Anywhere may update this guarantee upon written notice. Any changes will not affect users enrolled prior to the date of such notice for the remainder of their then-current subscription term.
Subject Eligibility. The Growth Guarantee applies only to subjects in which the User was rostered at both assessments bracketing the Interval. Subjects added mid-Interval become eligible beginning with the first full Interval in which they appear at both endpoints.
Consistently Low Growth. If your student scores below 1.0x overall on three consecutive MAP tests, Alpha Anywhere, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to begin the offboarding process, issue a 12-month refund, and terminate the applicable User account.
Short-Term Programs. Certain Alpha Anywhere offerings are delivered over a limited duration that does not align with our standard year-round subscription or the full NWEA MAP assessment cycle. These offerings — including but not limited to summer programs, seasonal sessions, and other limited-duration enrollments (collectively, "Short-Term Programs") — are subject to the following modifications to this policy:
21-Day Risk-Free Guarantee (in place of 45 days). You may cancel a Short-Term Program enrollment for any reason within the first 21 calendar days of the program start date and receive a full refund of fees paid; any remaining commitment obligations are cancelled. No diagnostics, assessments, or platform usage are required. This guarantee does not apply to returning Users.
No Growth Guarantee. The Growth Guarantee, and all related remedies (including the 50% coaching discount, the growth-based refund, and the consecutive-low-growth offboarding provision), do not apply to Short-Term Programs. No growth-based outcomes are promised for these programs.
-All Other Terms Apply. Except as expressly modified above, all other provisions of this Guarantee & Refund Policy — including curriculum-completion refunds, ESA fund handling, reward value deductions, refund-request timing, and guarantee-modification rights — continue to apply to Short-Term Programs.***
Conflicts. If anything in this guarantee conflicts with our Terms of Use, the terms of this guarantee shall control.
5. Definitions
“Annual Interval” means the period between the same MAP test season across two consecutive years (e.g., winter to winter, spring to spring).
“Growth Factor” means the change in your student's academic performance as demonstrated by your student’s MAP Growth test performance across one interval.
“Interval” means either an Annual Interval or a Term Interval, depending on context.
“MAP (Growth)” means the Measures of Academic Progress exam administered by NWEA that measures student proficiency and growth in Math, Reading, Language Arts, and Science.
“National Average Annual Growth” means the predicted growth rate for students in the same grade level and subject, as reported by NWEA.
“NWEA” or “Northwest Evaluation Association” means the organization that administers the MAP assessment.
“Essential Skills” means the specific skills assigned to your child which are needed to progress in mastery and growth. These may vary by student and cover Math, Science, Language Arts, and Reading. Some assigned skills are not “essential” but may be assigned to your child to support their specific learning plan and growth outcomes.
“Short-Term Program” means any Alpha Anywhere program offered for a duration shorter than the standard year-round subscription, including but not limited to summer programs, seasonal sessions, intensives, and other limited-duration enrollments. Short-Term Programs are designated as such at the time of enrollment.
“Term Interval” means the period between two consecutive MAP test examinations (e.g., fall to winter, winter to spring). Spring to Fall (May to September) is not a valid term, as National Average Growth is typically negative.
"User" means the individual student for whom the learning plan has been created, who is the sole intended recipient of the associated educational Services, and whose academic performance is measured by the MAP Growth assessments referenced herein. All references to "User" throughout this Agreement refer to the same individual in each instance.
