Meet Our CEO
Joe Marone
Joe Marone leads Alpha Anywhere with experience as both an educator and an executive. He was a high school teacher and has seen firsthand how differently children learn, and how often traditional systems fail to adapt to those differences.
Alongside his classroom experience, Joe has spent over a decade building and scaling high-performing organizations, including senior leadership roles at Alpha School, Red Ventures, and AvidXchange. He brings operational rigor, data-driven decision-making, and a focus on measurable outcomes to education.
As CEO, Joe is focused on extending the proven success of Alpha Schools into homes. Under his leadership, Alpha Anywhere translates more than 10 years of learning science and results into a flexible, fully virtual program where students can learn up to two times faster in just two hours a day.
Joe believes world-class learning should be accessible without zip codes, lotteries, or reliance on finding the “right” teacher. His work is guided by a simple belief: education should adapt to children, not the other way around.
Meet our founder
MacKenzie Price
MacKenzie Price is the creator of the 2 Hour Learning model and co-founder of Alpha Schools. As a Stanford-trained psychologist, she set out to reimagine education after seeing firsthand how disengaging traditional school could be for students.
Her model enables students to master core academics in just two focused hours a day, freeing time to pursue passion projects and build real-world skills.
What began as a single Alpha School has grown into a network spanning multiple cities, with the model now used across Alpha High, Sports Academy, NextGen Academy, and GT School, reshaping learning for hundreds of students.
Through her work, podcast, and leadership in the education and technology space, MacKenzie continues to advance a simple belief: learning should be efficient, engaging, and built around how children actually learn.
